This time around, the Lakers top the Pelicans

The last time we saw the Lakers against the Pelicans, it didn't turn out so well. This time, with the Pelicans in LA, the role was reversed. Jordan Hill helped lead the Lakers to victory with a career high 21 points, and 11 rebounds. Hill cracked the starting lineup, as head coach Mike D'Antoni has been trying to look for a spark for the starting lineup. Hill delievered as he brought a lot of energy and tenacity. The Lakers played great defense, and the one big thing they did was make Anthony Davis a non-factor which affected the Pelicans offensive and defensive flow. At the end, the Lakers were victorious with a 116-95 win.

The team looked really good from start to end. Something that has been a rarity this season, with the exception of their first game against the Clippers. Lakers shot 56% from the field and 55% from beyond the arc. The Lakers had five players that were in the double digit range. It was a more concerted effort tonight and it's something that they must bring every night in order to compete in a tough Western Conference. It will be another back-to-back for the Lakers as they head to Denver, where they have had problems winning for years. Lakers are now 4-5, playing close to .500 basketball. They can certainly improve as its still early in the season. Question is, can they sustain the effort tonight through most of the year?
