Lakers fall to Memphis 89-86

This was a very winnable game for the Lakers. Like other games, they just couldn't finish down the stretch and Memphis won this one 89-86. The Lakers trailed through most of the first half, but turned it on in the second half. The Lakers shot 44% from the field and 42% from behind the arc.

Jodie Meeks led the Lakers with 25 points and Gasol contributed with a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Grizzlies shot 44% from the field but only 8% from behind the arc. But it was more than enough for Memphis who was led by Randolph with 28 points and 11 rebounds. The Lakers allowed 44 points in the paint to Memphis. In the game against Denver, the Lakers allowed 60 points. It's been a problem as of late, as the Lakers have struggled containing their opponents under the basket. Nick Young was the only Laker off the bench that was in double figures with 18 points.

It is apparent that the Lakers are missing that go to guy down the stretch. Their execution also has struggled all season especially in close games. The Lakers now fall to 4-7 with Detroit coming into town on Sunday.
