Lakers get big win against the Celtics 113-99

In an emotional couple of days due to the passing of Lakers owner Jerry Buss, the team took on the rival Celtics looking to start the second half of the season right. Howard was extremely active in this game contributing 24pts and 12 rbs. Bryant had 16pts, Nash and Clark with 14pts, and Metta had 12pts. All the Lakers starters were in double figures. They had great ball movement and it showed. The bench contributed in a big way scoring 33pts combined. It certainly was a game the Lakers needed after a poor showing in the last game against the Clippers. The energy was there and so was the effort. It was an important win because with 28 games remaining, the Lakers need every win they can get.

For most of the game, the Lakers looked like a team that played with some chemistry. It's something that has been lacking for the most part so far. The Lakers wore a special patch on their jerseys in honor of the late great Jerry Buss. It simply has the initials "JB" on it. If the Lakers are to make the playoffs, they will have to go on a serious run. We will see if they can continue winning against their next opponent, the Blazers tomorrow night.
