Will Gasol be traded by the deadline?

With the trade deadline looming, the Lakers may have to make moves in order for the team to make the playoffs. So far, this season has been viewed by many as a disappointment. Gasol has heard all the rumors before, and this year will be no different. There have been stories that Pau Gasol has not seen eye to eye with Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni. If you recall earlier in the season, D'Antoni benched gasol in the fourth quarter. Gasol has made it known that he doesn't like the idea of being benched. Gasol has been coming off the bench as of late, due to the fact that he's recovering from a concussion that he suffered against  the Denver Nuggets.

It has also been said, that Gasol is not flourishing in D'Antoni's offense. The season has been a whirlwind for the Lakers, as well as Gasol. The team has been hampered with injuries, and Gasol has already had knee tendinitis and recently a concussion. I believe that the Lakers have to get younger in the backup point guard position, and the back up power forward/center position. Mitch has said that the Lakers do not intend to make any major moves by the trade deadline. If the Lakers do not trade Gasol, it would be wise for them to keep him just in case Howard decides to leave at the end of the season. That way, the Lakers would still have a skilled big man. Pau Gasol may be the Lakers most valuable asset if they do intend to make some moves before the deadline.

  1. Get some good bench players, and the Lakers will be good for the playoff run!

    1. I would say a minor deal will be done. Could be for someone who could bolster the bench. Thanks for answering.

  2. Yes. He's been declining every year. Time to get younger.

  3. No he won't cuz the Lakers don't have anyone other than kobe or dwight that other teams would want. The Lakers have a garabage bench so who would want those players? Gasol has bad knees and cant play anymore, sorry but we're stuck with him.

    1. Gasol still has 'some' value. Still a skilled big man. I don't think the Lakers will make a deal if they're not getting anything good back in return.

    1. It was one of the reasons, but not the prime reason. Nash came to LA because #1. He was close to his kids and family who reside in Phoenix, and #2 it was a good opportunity for him to win that long eluded championship.

Josh Smith is a good player, but even if the Lakers want him, I don't know if ATL would want Gasol in return. Thanks for answering.
